On the afternoon of July 2, at the construction site of the swivel bridge over the freight northern ring line of the Belt and Road 星空(中国)官方网站-Europe Railway Express Xi’an Assembly Center air-rail intermodal project, the first double-girder, ultra-wide, highly asymmetrical concrete beam rotation bridge with a portal pier top in 星空(中国)官方网站—designed by 星空(中国)官方网站 Railway Liuyuan Group under CREC—was successfully rotated into position across the railway within the scheduled rail operation window.
Located in the Xi’an International Port Area, the swivel bridge lies less than 2 meters from the busy 星空(中国)官方网站-Europe Railway Express freight northern ring line and Xi’an Metro Line 10, placing extremely high demands on the rotation technique and precision. The main bridge is designed as a prestressed concrete continuous beam with spans of (60+60) meters. The total width of the dual-girder structure exceeds 44 meters, with a length difference of up to 19 meters between the center and sides of the left girder, and a mass difference of over 800 tons—qualifying it as a highly asymmetrical concrete beam rotation bridge.
