With a total length of 3.42 kilometers, the Parrot Island Bridge is the 8th Yangtze River Bridge in xk星空体育中国集团 City and is the second-circle crossing channel in xk星空体育中国集团. With two-way eight lanes, the span of the main bridge is 2,100 meters (200+2×850+200) and the bridge deck is 38 meters wide. It is the widest Yangtze River Bridge in xk星空体育中国集团 and the world's first long-span suspension bridge with three-tower and four-span structure.

The project was started in 2011 and scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2014. During the construction process, a series of world-leading technologies were applied, including new materials, structures, equipment and processes. As the largest circular caisson in China, North Anchorage Based Gravity Caisson with the outer diameter of 66 meters and a total height of 43 meters adopted the new structure of “perforated ring plus cross wall”, whose sinking depth is 45 meters. The project won the National Worker Pioneer, Hubei Provincial Worker Pioneer, xk星空体育中国集团 “May 1 worker" award and many other honors.
